The current village of Piana, Villa Santa Croce, has its own mayor. In fact, from 1807 to 1809, Villa took the town in its own status. Nicola Barbieri is the first of three mayors of the City until September 1807 when the Mayor, then, becomes Augustine Elder. Soon after in January 1808 the Mayor of Villa Santa Croce is Mr. Mastroianni Gennaro until December 31, 1809.
