Lampedusa - A fire broke out last night just before the 'dawn of Lampedusa in the Loran base that houses a hundred non-EU women who had been transferred to the former military base for the overcrowding of the main center which currently houses more than 1,200 illegal immigrants. There were scenes of panic and fear, undocumented immigrants have tried to escape, though, at present, there does not seem to be injured.
The basic Loran, as reported by the municipal council Lampedusa, it would be illegal because it would not have certificates of fitness for use and fire protection and therefore could not accommodate people. Without fire safety certificate is also the main center of first asylum and the city council will meet in a matter of urgency to solve these problems groped.
Meanwhile the wave of landings no signs of stopping. Yesterday in Pozzallo (Sicily) landed 230 immigrants, almost all Eritreans, Somalis and North Africa while another boat with more than 300 illegal immigrants has landed in the 'Island of Malta where the shelters "explode."
